| BMW 700 |
The BMW 700 filled the gap between the Cheap and cheerful Isetta and the large BMW 500 series cars. It was launched in 1960 as a Michelotti designed Coupe with a bored out 600 boxer engine. The original engine developed 30 hp but by the last 700 in 1965 had 40hp and a top speed of over 80 mph. The range soon included a convertible and a saloon. The BMW 700 lasted until 1965 when over 180,000 had been built. |
