| Suzuki Cappuccino There is a class of car in Japan, the Kei-jidosha (or 'K' class for short. These cars are intended as city runabouts and are restricted in size and power. Critically they are allowed to park on the streets at night where owners of larger size cars must have an off road parking space. They were once restricted to a an engine size of 360 cc and to be no longer than three metres. Now this has risen to a limit of 660 cc and 3.3 metres long. It is human nature to push the limits and the Suzuki Cappuccino is right there at the maximum. It is only 660 cc but has a double overhead cam, three cylinder engine, multi-point fuel injection and a turbo (with intercooler) and pushes out 68 hp! It was launched in 1992 and ran for about 4 years. I had one for a while and can say they are great fun, but it helps if you are less than 5' 11" tall! |
