David

The first David 3-wheeler was made in Barcelona in around 1951  The vehicle had a fibreglass body and was powered by a single-cylinder 345cc two-stroke engine which was mounted on the front wheel after the style of the Bond Minicar but with a large three-quarter-elliptic leaf spring. The gear lever, working in a huge H-slot in the dash, selected the gears via fingers running through the middle of the front kingpin. The characteristic large, white steering wheel (from an Auto-Union supplier) turned a large, primitive open crown-and-pinion via a Voisin-patent constant-velocity joint. The rear brake levers and cables were external. The David was produced up 1957 with a limited number of vehicles produced.

Scratchbuilt
The model is carved from solid resin, another example of Jochen's skill.

The Fiat 126 replaced the ever popular  Nuovo 500 with more up to date styling of the 1980s.  The 126 was built in Poland and was no doubt more economical to produce than the  old 500.  The engine was a similar rear mounted air-cooled twin but enlarged to 650cc.    The final version was the 126 BIS which had a full hatchback and a watercooled 700 cc twin engine laid on it's side under the rear floor.  I had one and although it was not the most reliable of cars and soon went rusty, it was really good fun to_drive.
