| The Reliant 3/25 (3 wheels, 25hp)
was launched in 1962 and with an update to 3/30 in 1967
lasted until the Reliant Robin took over in 1973. It had a glass-fibre body and all
aluminium engine which helped to keep the weight below the legal limit of 8 cwt for 3
wheelers. This allowed special road tax and the Regal could be driven with only a
motorcycle licence. The AA van existed only as a one off prototype but I remember
the Royal Mail vans. The models are Lledo Vanguards and were prompted by the 'Del Boy' van from the TV series. The Regal Saloon is a Bijou Transkit using parts from the Lledo. Corgi have also made a similar van in a slightly bigger scale. |
