Seat 800
Seat 800
Seat had been making their version of the Fiat 600 since 1957, but in 1962 they took the design one step forward with a stretched four door version.  It still had the same mechanical parts but was 180 mm longer.  It dosn't sound much but there is not much rear passenger legroom in the standard Seat 600. The model is an attempt to capture the 800, as far as I know, an original model has never been issued.  It is based on the 1:43 Corgi 'Detail Cars' model of the Fiat 600D by cutting and welding two together.  The Fiat was not the best model to start with as the Seat had suicide doors so the door handles had to be moved, and if you look really closely for the central door hinges you are more nuts than I am!
