Subaru R2 & Suzuki Fronte By Diapet
Subaru R2
The early seventies saw an extensive updating of Subaru cars.  This model R2 replaced the first 360 in 1970 and was itself updated by the Rex in 1972.   Of the earlier car the R2 retained only the engine, a two stroke twin producing 32 hp as standard or 36 hp on the SS model.

This diecast model is by Diapet (Yonezawa Toys) and dates back to the mid '70s. It is Diapet No.D-195 to a scale of 1:40.

It has plain turned wheels and suspension, very similar to the Corgi or Spot - On of the day. The doors open and seats tilt but as you can see these features do not detract from the good lines of the model.   Perhaps compare it to the Diapet Suzuki Fronte  and Honda N360, or even the much later Honda Beat.
